DIY Wedding Bar

I rescued this old buffet from my grandmother’s barn. It was hidden back in a far corner under boxes and boxes of old treasures. Once home I added a fresh coat of white paint. When we started it was the same color as the top, but I didn’t take a before photo.

We lightly sanded down the top a couple times. I wasn’t too worried about imperfections because I wanted a somewhat rustic, old feel to the piece. Having the top a little worn was okay.

Once sanded we added a couple coats of Minwax Red Mahogany stain.

I kept the handles as they were. I thought they tied in nicely with the top.

The transformed buffet worked perfect for our bar area at our wedding reception!
